Why is there salt in the meals?Updated 7 months ago
Our meals contain a very small amount of salt for added natural minerals and flavoring. The minimum daily sodium intake for dogs should be around 13mg/kg body weight, which is about 0.2g/1000kcal (or 200mg/1000kcal).
For cats the Association of American Feed Control Officials recommends that dry cat foods contain at least a minimum of 0.2% sodium — 0.2% of dry matter your cat eats, or 0.5g/1000kcal (or 500mg/1000kcal) — for maintenance and to support normal growth and development.
